About Music Makers School of Music
Music Makers was started by Everett and Zelda Collins in 1997. It was named after Everett's parent's (Vivian and Everett Sr.) 1958 Amityville New York Drum & Bugle Corp, named The North Amityville Music Makers. Music Makers began in a small 2 office suite in Toano, Virginia with just 3 teachers. In the past eight years, Music Makers has occupied several locations before moving to its current location at 551-B Merrimac Trail in Williamsburg where Music Makers is not only a music school, it is also a full service music store. Music Makers has grown a great deal and now utilizes over a dozen instructors who teach numerous musicians of all ages in the Williamsburg area.
Music Makers also offers classes in Audio Engineering with the Pro-Tools based Music Makers Digital Recording facility. Music Makers also sponsors trips to New York City's Broadway and Philharmonic Districts as well as sponsoring university band performances up and down the east coast from Maryland to North Carolina each year. |
